This week on the podcast Amanda is joined by Veronica Thai. Veronica is a yoga teacher, a life coach and the host of the Curious Monki podcast.

On this episode, we are talking about mindset and Veronica shares tools for shifting your mindset during challenging times, like the current COVID-19 global pandemic. We talk about the subconscious mind, and how shifting your mindset is so important for our overall health and wellbeing.

  • There are always going to be thoughts in your head that tell you that you can’t do it and these thoughts are amplified in a state of uncertainty
  • What is the opposite of your fear? Think about “what if I don’t lose my job?” as opposed to “what if I lose my job?”
  • We have a body reaction to each version of our mindset and that translates into how we deal with everything in our lives
  • We are always just one thought away from bliss and happiness
  • Your body and your heart process a ton of information and we feel all of the thoughts we have
  • Sometimes when we are working with shifting our mindset, we switch to an extreme positive, which isn’t always believable.
  • You only need to choose something that makes you feel a little bit better
  • Feel the mindset shifts in your body – what feels expansive and opening? What feels contracting? You want to look for the thoughts that feel open and expansive.
  • Your thoughts are so important because the neurons in our brain create pathways and they get programmed based on your thoughts
  • Once you have created your new thought, think about 3 reasons why that might be true
  • We have a conscious and a subconscious mind
  • If you have an emotional reaction that you can’t make sense of you, you want to try and become that feeling
  • Select an item in your space and use that as a metaphor to your feelings and fears
  • All you need to do to use these tools is yourself and a journal
  • You can call out the way you want to feel
