People, Talking People: November 2020 Wrap-up

You are here: Home / People, Talking People / People, Talking People: November 2020 Wrap-up

December 15, 2020 //  by WanderBarn

Hi people!

Welcome back! It’s been a hot second since I’ve seen you here on the Wander Barn blog so I hope you’re staying safe, healthy, and somewhat sane as the Holiday season is here.

If you’re like me, and avoiding embracing all the chaos that comes with the holiday season, I’ve found podcasts to be a fun way to distract me from the rest of the world.

Lucky for you, People, Talking People, published a few of my personal favorite episodes ever in November. I think you’re in for a treat if you haven’t listened to them already. Let’s jump in and see what you think!

We kicked off November with episode 16 which is a fun one we like to call, “Managing Up (PT2): Tacticals & Practicals – How to effectively have a conversation with your superior.”

This episode is part 2 of our managing up conversation, but this one is the juicy one in my opinion. It’s got super duper practical tips to help you feel more confident and prepared to have a serious conversation with your boss about your development at work.

Unsure if it’s for you?

No matter where you are in life, you will one day need to have a conversation with someone to advocate for your best interest, maybe it’s not today, tomorrow, or even next year, BUT why not start learning tools to make hard conversations easier? This episode has a lot of tools that will benefit you in any conversation, so I’d encourage you to give a listen. 😊

I took a solo episode last month to nerd out and share some of my 2020 book recommendations. We called it: Ready to Read? Book Recommendations from Randalyn

I’ll be honest, it’s not a perfect list. It’s heavy on the true crime/mystery side of things (I love a thriller…!) and it’s probably missing some other great ones, but it’s a fun reflection of books that made me smile and helped me temporarily escape the insanity that is 2020.

Unsure if it’s for you?

“But Randi, I’m not a big reader…” Here’s the thing. You don’t have to be! If you aren’t a big reader, don’t listen for yourself – but I’m sure there is someone you’re shopping for this year that loves to read and there’s probably something on this list for them. You never know… 😉

Our last episode in November is probably one of my favorite episodes we have done to date! It was called: Setting goals when we feel like there is nothing to look forward to. I’m definitely partial, but I think it makes goal setting a LOT more approachable.

Jen and I break down the 2 kinds of people who set goals and share some actionable steps to help keep morale high as the means of completing our goals has fluctuated throughout this year. If you’re not looking forward to setting goals for 2021, or heck, even setting goals for next week, I think you’d enjoy this one.

Unsure if it’s for you?

“But Randi, I’m a goal setting professional who hasn’t been impacted by the additional stress or disappointment that covid and 2020 have created.” Well, if you can say that sentence with ease and mean every word of it, this episode may not be for you. What I will say is that this episode was such a fun one to record and Jen and I had a really fun time chatting; you can hear the excitement and joy in our voices. So if you’re sad, this could just be a good pick me up. 🤗

Well people, that’s a wrap on People, Talking People for November. Jen and I are cooking up some fun things for the rest of December AND some super fun things for January. Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button anywhere you listen to your podcasts to stay in the know and hear from Jen and I weekly.

Chat soon,

Randi
